Deerfield





Schools
District 109 is composed of Kipling Elementary, South Park Elementary, Walden Elementary, Wilmot Elementary, Caruso Middle School, Shepard Middle School, and Helping Hands Preschool. 











All seven schools are located in Deerfield, IL zip code 60015. The district operates on a single schedule with the school year beginning in late August and ending in mid-June. District 109's mission is to "Provide educational experiences of the highest quality that engage, inspire and empower each student to excel and contribute in a changing world." The district looks to foster and instill in its students lifelong thinking and communication skills.

Deerfield High School is a public four-year high school located about 25 miles north of Chicago in Deerfield, IL. It is part of Township High School District 113, which also includes Highland Park High School. Deerfield High School currently has more than 1600 students enrolled and around 240 staff members. The facility houses about 60 clubs and nearly 30 sports teams. District 113 is accredited by the state of Illinois and the North Central Association and is a member of NACAC, IACAC, and the National College Board; and adheres to the NACAC Statement of Principles and Good Practice.





Libraries
The Deerfield Public Library lends books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, and video games over 300,000 times each year. Anyone may access the Library’s online catalog 24 hours a day to search the library’s holdings, renew items, request or cancel holds, and check the status of his or her account. 




The Deerfield Public Library offers free cultural, educational, and recreational programs throughout the year. Children and families enjoy a variety of story times, crafts, and special performances. Adult programs include book discussions, lectures, and performances.




Park District
The Deerfield Park District was established in 1951 to provide recreation programs and facilities for residents of all ages. The Deerfield Park District has grown and flourished throughout the years with the support of Deerfield's residents. 




Today, the park district encompasses more than 350 acres of land, which includes 20 park sites and an 18-hole golf course in Riverwoods. The district also has two outdoor swimming pools, a nature area, and a skate park. The Deerfield Park District has come a long way since 1951, and the amount and variety of programs and services continues to expand and evolve to meet the needs of our residents.





Shopping and Dining
Deerfield Square is located on North Waukegan Road and offers a cheerful ambiance for a day of shopping. It’s the perfect place to get everything checked off your shopping list and then a bite to eat. 






The big stores like Barnes & Noble, Walgreen’s, and Whole Foods are decorated with small to medium sized stores left and right such as Just Between Friends, LOFT, Potbelly Sandwich and Core Power Yoga. Dao Sushi and Roti Modern Mediterranean will be joining this beautiful square soon!






Bobby’s Deerfield is located at 695 Deerfield Road. It is an American-style bistro offering up craft beer & cocktails in a bold, open space with high ceilings.

Biaggi’s is located at 711 Deerfield Road. It is a chain outpost serving a large menu of Italian fare plus specialty cocktails in a laid-back setting.




Deerfields Bakery has three locations. One in Deerfield, one in Buffalo Grove, and one in Schaumburg. The Deerfield location is located on 813 North Waukegan Road. It is a classic cafe with a drive-thru & a menu of pastries, breakfast fare, sandwiches, coffee & smoothies.




Location and Transportation
Deerfield is located only 27 miles away from the city of Chicago and one mile west of Route 41 – a direct auto route to Chicago or Wisconsin. The Tollway (I-294) goes north to Wisconsin and south to I-80 which is the Illinois connection to Indiana and Iowa. Deerfield is within 15 miles of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. Metra Milwaukee District has two stations on the North Line Railroad located in Deerfield. 








Deerfield Station is located at 860 Deerfield Road, two blocks west of Route 43. Lake Cook Station is located two blocks west of Lake Cook and Waukegan Road intersection at Deer Lake and Lake Cook Road.
